25 Years, 25 Stories
In recognition of the agency’s 25th anniversary and of the continuing urgency of the city’s AIDS epidemic, the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) presents 25 Years, 25 Stories, a special multimedia history project that tells the story of ACT and HIV/AIDS in Toronto over the past two-and-a-half decades. In this space every few weeks over the next few months, we will reveal a new story that captures the highs and lows of the AIDS movement. To view a story, click one of the links in the right-hand column.
But the history of the AIDS Committee of Toronto is not merely the history of an organization. It is the history of the hundreds of staff, board members, volunteers, clients, and supporters who have been involved with the agency in some way over the past 25 years. It is the millions of hours of life lived in pursuit of a common goal: the eradication of HIV/AIDS in Toronto.
Tell us your stories about ACT, about HIV/AIDS, and about the AIDS movement in Toronto. Simply click on the ‘submit your stories’ link in the right-hand column of this page and start writing. Many of your stories will be published alongside the 25 Years, 25 Stories project in the coming weeks and months.
