O “ACT”é a sigla (abreviatura/acrónimo) para “AIDS Committee of Toronto”. O ACT oferece serviços para homens, mulheres e jovens, os quais tem questões sobre/acerca do VIH/HIV e/ou SIDA/AIDS. Se você, seu amigo/a, parceiro/a ou membro da familia vive com HIV/AIDS, e/ou tem preocupações ou questões sobre o VIH e/ou SIDA/AIDS, contacte os funcionários do ACT.
ACT is an short form for "AIDS Committee of Toronto". ACT offers services for men, women and youth with questions about HIV or AIDS, or to people living with HIV/AIDS. If you have a friend, partner or a family member with questions about HIV or AIDS or are living with HIV or AIDS you can contact our staff or volunteers for help.
Todos os serviços do ACT são gratuitos. O ACT oferece serviço de aconcelhamento, apoio, palestras e outros serviços práticos de apoio às pessoas que vivem com VIH/AIDS. Aqui no ACT existe também uma biblioteca aberta ao público com uma grande colecção de livros, fitas cassete e muita informação sobre a SIDA/AIDS, em português e em Inglês. (Também na St. Stephen’s Community House, at 91 Bellevue Ave, pode ser encontrado outros materiais, em Portugês sobre a SIDA/AIDS).
All ACT services are free. We offer help in various ways: counselling, workshops, support groups and practical help for people living with HIV/AIDS. Our library is one of the largest collections of HIV/AIDS materials open to the public in North America with the collection ranging in content from videos and tapes, posters and books to vertical file materials. There is also a small collection of Portuguese-language materials from Brazil and Portugal located with the main collection at ACT offices as well as another collection located at St Stephen’s Community House Wellness Program at 91 Bellevue Avenue.
