AIDS Committee of Toronto Introduces Draft Strategic Directions 2006-09

The AIDS Committee of Toronto initiated its strategic planning process in June 2005. The process has three key elements: an environmental scan; internal consultations (Board and staff); and community consultations.

This document has been created to facilitate feedback from the communities ACT serves about its future directions. These stakeholders will be approached in a variety of ways, including an online questionnaire, confidential interviews, and focus groups. The questionnaire can be accessed below, and interview and focus group opportunities will be announced shortly.

Consultation with stakeholders will guide the Board of Directors in the creation of the first draft of its new Strategic Plan, which will be available in December 2005. This draft Plan will be posted on ACT’s website, and additional opportunity provided to the community to respond. We anticipate the Plan will be adopted in February 2006 and implementation will begin in April 2006.

The document has been designed in the following way: Strategic Directions 2, 3, and 4 are focused upon clients and Strategic Directions 1 and 5 are essential enablers to deliver upon the Strategic Plan.

We invite you to read the draft strategic directions. Feedback on these draft strategic directions received through an on-line survey, as well as input from a series of focus groups are currently being compiled.
