ARREST WHILE, OR AS A RESULT OF, WORKING

The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) is responsible for providing appropriate legal representation for all employees and volunteers who are arrested while, or as a result of, conducting ACT business.

1. ACT Employees or volunteers who are arrested while, or as a result of, conducting ACT business must immediately report the situation to their supervisor or Executive Director.

a) During regular work hours, the office is to be called at the first available opportunity.

b) At other times, a supervisor or the Executive Director is to be contacted at home.

2. Employees and volunteers should carry the telephone numbers of the office and appropriate supervisor, and the Executive Director if they are performing tasks in locations that may be prone to leading to an arrest (e.g., bath house, park, washroom or bar outreach).
