COUNSELLING: EXTERNAL REFERRALS
In order to provide access to comprehensive services, the AIDS Committee of Toronto's (ACT's) counsellors provide referrals to external resources as follows:
1. Based on the client's request, counsellors facilitate access to external resources by:
a) contacting the external agency directly to advocate on behalf of the client, and/or
b) providing the client with information about appropriate agencies, e.g., name, address, telephone number, and services offered.

2. Where appropriate and with the client's permission, counsellors may request followup information on services provided by the resource. (Also see Disclosure/Release of Information to Others, PS # 3-50.)
