PROCEDURE
COUNSELLING: INTAKE
In order to provide prompt and responsive counselling services, clients are given an intake appointment to take place within one week of their call.
Counsellors sign up for intakes based on their current case loads and availability. Each month, counsellors' case loads are assessed to determine their availability for intake appointments for the upcoming month. This assessment is done in supervision with the Director of Support Services.
The intake process involves:
- collecting required demographic information,
- assessing the client's situation and needs, and
- developing a suggested plan of action.
