COUNSELLING: ON-CALL


A designated on-call counsellor is to be available to see clients who come in without an appointment from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Monday to Thursday and from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday. The on-call counsellor is also available to assist with Hotline calls as necessary.

Each full-time counsellor is responsible for at least one on-call day per week. Other appropriate staff may provide on-call services as well.

The counselling team is responsible for the on-call counsellor schedule. The schedule is communicated to the Access Centre Coordinator for the information of the Infodesk and Hotline volunteers.

If the scheduled on-call counsellor needs to change an on-call shift, that individual is responsible for finding a replacement and communicating the change to the Access Centre Coordinator.

The on-call counsellor informs the information desk staff when absent on lunch or other break throughout the on-call shift.
