The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) develops and delivers innovative programs and services that promote the dignity, health and well-being of individuals and communities living with, affected by and at risk for HIV/AIDS..





Purpose


To assist in creation of a new Employer Database by:
1. contacting/researching existing employers to update profile/contact information
2. entering updated profiles in new Penelope Employer Database


Benefits

1. basic database entry skills
2. an understanding of Job Development from the perspective of maintenance and development of existing employer relationships


Time Commitment


52 hours
for months
Details:
approx. two 4 hours shifts per week (mostly daytime) until database completed - mid/end June


Duties


The Volunteer will:
The Volunteer will research and contact a list of approximately 180 existing employers to:
1. confirm phone/address
2. confirm contact name(s)
3. confirm industry/job types
4. confirm hiring procedure
5. volunteer will enter this information into Penelope Employer Database
6. Other duties as assigned.


Personal Qualities
and Skills


Required Qualities & Skills:
1. solid command of english
2. excellent telephone manner - professional communication skills
3. ability to research companies through their websites
4. ability to be trained on Penelope/database entry

Requirements


Volunteer Core Skills Training, Event-Role-Specific Training, On-the-job Training with Supervisor and/or other Volunteers
