Purpose


to deliver information, safer sex materials and referrals to bathhouse patrons

Time Commitment


hours per week
for 12 months
Details:
volunteer is required to commit to at least one shift of 3 hours per month for a period of one year


Duties


The Volunteer will:
- to distribute condoms, lube, condom packs, literature about safer sex to bathhouse patrons
- to engage in conversations about safer sex practices
- to talk about the risks of practising unsafe sex and the benefits of practising safer sex
- to make referrals to other ACT programs and services and other community organizations
- to attend training sessions
- abide by the ACT's Volunteer Code of Conduct and Volunteer Outreach Consensual Agreement

and Skills


Required Qualities & Skills:
- to be sex positive and affirming
- to be non-judgemental
- to be polite and able to treat people with courtesy
- good communication skills
- ability to communicate in Portuguese language
- responsible, committed and reliable
- confidentiality is a must
- willing to perform shifts on evenings and/or weekends
- comfortable talking about sex, sexuality and public sex environments
