Purpose | Created to ensure coordination of clients wanting computer skills training with approved volunteer computer training classes. Could be 5-6 different MS Office classes runing at same time periods and needs to book available space, coordinate which clients scheduled for which specific classes and provide administrative support to volunteer trainers. A major priority of this role is to ensure volunteer and/or clients concerns are raised with the approriate Employment Consultant so pro-active action can be taken. | ||
Benefits | Access to other computer skills training if desired and work closely with Emplolyment Consultant and volunteer trainers. | ||
Time Commitment | 6 hours per week for 9 months | ||
Duties | The Volunteer will: Work closely with Employment Consultant to: Maintain an on-going and current list of EA clients requiring computer skills training and register clients to classes following volunteer trainers comittments. Maintain contact with volunteer trainers/clients, to confirm changes to scheduled classes.(ie cancellations/changed times/etc.) Ensure all volunteer trainers have administrative needs met.(ie: List of class clients/tel. numbers, mailbox assignments to trainers for messages, prepare graduates certificates for signature, and misc. related administrative duties.) Post a calendar of times/dates for all scheduled computer classes Inform supervisor of problems/concerns expressed by clients or volunteer trainers. | ||
Personal Qualities and Skills | Required Qualities & Skills: Excellent inter-personal, communication, problem solving, time management and organizational skills. Experience with basic word and excel computer skills required. Knowledge of all levels of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access a real asset but not mandatory. Ability for flexibility in weekly time comittment but should average approx. 6-8 hours per week (could be combination of daytime and/or evenings) | ||
