Purpose | To facilitate computer training to EA clients who have no (or high risk) funding available for their training in computer skills to be job competitive. - To assist in the development/assessment of new computer training required, based on clients identified needs. . | ||

Time Commitment | 6 hours per week for 3 consecutive weeks every 3 months Details: (preference for volunteers to renew their comittment for another 3 months to 1 year to allow program continuity. classes are usually for 6 weeks but some volunteers can work any combination of days/evenings. | ||
Duties | The Volunteer will: Keep the employment consultant informed of availabilty to facilitate training. Carry out the tasks involved of starting up new training, which includes preparation of course criteria/outlines (together with staff) to ensure goal is achieved and to report any client problems if they occur as well as administer final class evaluation. To use a professional style/approach/facilitation to ensure clients maximize their learnings and can transfer this skill to the workplace. Participate in quarterly meetings of all volunteer trainers, to problem solve issues/improvments to the program. Approx. 2 hours per quarter. Award certificates to clients registered for training that have successfully completed the course. Relay/inform EA Consultant of client issues/concerns that arise about the program is general. | ||
Personal Qualities and Skills | Required Qualities & Skills: Possess sufficient personal rersource/support system to successfully engage in the challenges associated with direct service to EA clients. Experience in teaching computer skills in MS Office (all levels preferred but not essential) Knowledge of psychosocial issues related to HIV/AIDS. | ||
