The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) develops and delivers innovative programs and services that promote the dignity, health and well-being of individuals and communities living with, affected by and at risk for HIV/AIDS..





Purpose


The Furniture Bank Program provides People Living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs) who are on limited income, access to furniture and house-hold items.


Benefits


*Limited program coordination experience.
* The satisfaction of providing hands-on assistance to People Living with HIV/AIDS, and improving their living space.


Time Commitment


4 hrs per month as when needed.


Duties


The Volunteer will:
* Maintain an orderly and persentable space ( this includes periodic cleaning, sorting and inventory of the Furniture Bank).
* Other adminsitrative tasks as required when needed.


Personal Qualities
and Skills


Required Qualities & Skills:
*punctuality is imperative.
*organizational skills.
*good people skills.
*some ability to lift/move heavy items may be required.
*comfortable with a limited "thrift shop" atmosphere.

Volunteer Core Skills Training, On-the-job Training with Supervisor and/or other Volunteers
