Job Description:
ACT seeks a Peer Facilitator for the “Development of an HIV Prevention and Sexual Health Intervention for HIV-Positive Gay and Bisexual Men” study. This collaboration between researchers and the provincial Positive Prevention Working Group (PPWG) will develop a new intervention strategy for HIV-positive men who have sex with men (MSM) that promotes sexual health in a community-based framework. This is the first phase of a project that will lead to running a pilot of the program with HIV-positive gay and bisexual men.

Responsibilities:

Participation in each phase of the development of the intervention, including:
· Training with major interventions for HIV prevention with positive men
· Development of intervention content and assessment materials
· Implementation of continuous quality improvement design
· Facilitation and preparation for the intervention workshops

Other
· Participates on teams and external committees to communicate information, resolve problems and achieve the goals of the organization
· Participates in staff, volunteer and peer facilitator training
· Complies with The AIDS Committee of Toronto policies and procedures
· Performs other tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications
· Understanding of and ability to work with, communities of gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men
· Knowledge of issues related to HIV prevention
· Experience or training in group facilitation
· Experience with common office computer applications
· Volunteer management experience
· Ability to work independently in a team environment
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· This position is ideal for a candidate with graduate training in psychology, sociology, health studies, or related disciplines, or a graduate of the Ontario AIDS Network People with HIV/AIDS Leadership Training program or equivalent.
· This position has been designated for a person living with HIV/AIDS.




Salary: $37,600 annually (pro-rated)
