Scotiabank AIDS Walk For Life - Toronto
Each year thousands of caring men, women, kids (and even a few pets) come together to collect funds, raise awareness, show support, and continue the fight against this deadly illness that still has not been beaten.
Since the first event took place in 1989, the AIDS Walk (now the Scotiabank AIDS Walk For Life Toronto) has raised over $7 million dollars through the participation of more than 100,000 walkers, hundreds of corporate and community teams and many caring corporate supporters.
What sets the Scotiabank AIDS Walk For Life Toronto apart from other similar walkathons is the energy and camaraderie felt by all participants, volunteers, and spectators. The many large teams, the enthusiasm along the route, the cheering of spectators and volunteers, the colourful costumes worn by Walkers, the entertainment, barbeque, and beer garden - all of these contribute to the incredible festive atmosphere.
