What is the purpose of ACT Research Day?
The purpose of ACT Research Day is to enhance knowledge transfer among researchers, service providers and policy makers; help researchers, service providers and policy makers build their capacity to respond to HIV/AIDS; and generate community engagement in HIV/AIDS research.

Who should attend ACT Research Day?
ACT Research Day is intended for service providers who work at AIDS Service Organizations (ASO) and other community-based services, and researchers. Other interested community members and students are also welcome.

What’s new about ACT Research Day in 2008?
ACT Research Day has expanded this year. Two half-day events will be held:

• Part I: Understanding Ontario’s HIV Strategies on April 3
Part I features presentations from key stakeholders on Ontario’s Aboriginal, African and Caribbean, Gay Men’s and Women’s HIV/AIDS Strategies

• Part II: Knowledge for Access on April 11
Part II features community-based research presentations on Ontario’s trans communities, disability and HIV, and PHA involvement in the response to HIV/AIDS.

Can I attend only one part of ACT Research Day 2008? Can I attend both parts of ACT Research Day 2008?
You are welcome to attend either or both parts of ACT Research Day 2008.

Who will present at ACT Research Day 2008?
See Part I and Part II for detailed information.

Will there be posters at ACT Research Day 2008?
Posters that summarize research/work carried out by community-based agencies will be on display during Part II: Knowledge for Access on April 11.

How much does it cost to attend ACT Research Day?
ACT Research Day is a free event and lunch will be provided. Funding for this event has been provided by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN).

ACT Research Day is at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, 12 Alexander Street, in downtown Toronto. Click here for a map.

What time does ACT Research Day begin? What time does ACT Research Day end?
Part I happens on April 3 from 1 - 6 p.m. (lunch 12 - 1 p.m.). Part II happens on April 11 from 1 - 5:30 p.m. (lunch from 12 - 1 p.m. and networking reception from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.).
