ACT’s Buddy Program matches a volunteer with a person living to HIV to provide emotional support. All volunteers go through Core Skills (ACT’s training program) and strive to be caring companions and non-judgmental, objective supporters.
Buddy volunteers can help people living with HIV or AIDS address emotional, practical and health-related issues, improve their quality of life by supporting them to problem solve, navigate complex systems, reduce isolation and barriers, increase confidence, build resilience, seek health services, and get involved in the community.
